1. If I use all the Gen5 M.2 slots, will my graphics card slow down? Yes. AMD Ryzen processors have a finite number of PCIe lanes. If you populate the second or third Gen5 M.2 slot (M2B_CPU or M2C_CPU), your primary PCIe 5.0 x16 graphics card slot will drop down to x8 speed. However, a PCIe 5.0 x8 connection still provides incredible bandwidth (equivalent to PCIe 4.0 x16), so you will not see a noticeable drop in gaming performance, even with a flagship GPU.
2. Can I use DDR4 memory with this motherboard? No. The AM5 socket and X870 chipset are strictly designed for DDR5 memory. The physical slots will not accept older DDR4 RAM sticks.
